The eBooks Full-Text Search Engine is a J2EE compliant web application, which integrates into existing OUHK e-Library seamlessly while providing industrial strength performance and flexibility. Full-text search engine provides full feature query language for end-user, supports Boolean operators, wildcard keywords, and proximity search, implicates handling of Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese documents, provides ranking of searching result. The management website provides two main functions. One is issuing request to perform indexing operations either in automatically or in manually. The other is updating the eBooks status (valid or not) through Oracle database so that the full-text search engine can constraint the search result. |
